Our History

At Whitland RFC we are very proud of our Ladies team which has gone from strengh to strengh over the years and is now playing in the Premiership.

Whitland ladies RFC was formed in 2008 by Suzanne Davies, with the Help of Mr David John, the then team manager of Whitland RFC Men. The first few seasons proved difficult when only 10 ladies could commit to playing and training regularly, this hard work and perseverance has now borne fruit, with a consistent squad of 25 Ladies playing for the club who travel from all points west and east.

Since its inauguration players have been successful in gaining 6 Wales U20's caps, 2 of which are now in the Senior Wales Team of 2013, 1 Senior Cap in 2010 and many regional players and management. Most recently 6 of the ladies have gone on to the represent the Scarlet ladies sqaud.

In 2011 we won a hard fought National Plate competition in a game which saw the team play 100 minutes of rugby and this season, 2013, the squad won the Division 1 title meaning that we will play amongst the top 6 sides in Wales in the Premiership in 2014.

We also run an under 15's girls team, who are now in the second full season of development. Any lady/girl who is interested in joining is very welcome and should contact Suzanne Davies on 07966 694323. We welcome players of every ability and the Ladies currently train on a Thursday evening at 7pm and the girls on a Wednesday evening at 7pm.
